Relieving Pressure Helps You Heal
When discs are injured, they can bulge out and put pressure on nearby nerves. Herniated discs can narrow the spacing between the vertebrae, causing nerves to be pinched. Both conditions are extremely painful.
Since your discs are constantly under weight-bearing pressure, they can be slow to heal. Using the latest technology, we relieve back pain due to herniated and degenerated discs. Disc decompression therapy gently “stretches” your spine, relieving pressure and enhancing healing.
What to Expect
Dr. Carroll will review your imaging to determine if you’re a good candidate for the therapy. Comfortable clothing and emptying your bladder before your session are recommended. An assistant will bring you into our dedicated space and set you up on our specially equipped table.
Then, ever so slowly, we’ll stretch your spine, and let it relax. Stretch, and relax. Patients tell us the traction process is quite pleasant, even relaxing. Each sequence helps the damaged disc receive nourishment, expel cellular waste, and enjoy reduced pressure. This allows healing to begin.

- Post-surgical pain
- Lumbar/cervical radiculopathies
- Osteoarthritis
- Arm/leg pain and numbness
- Chronic neck or back pain that’s not responding to treatment
A woman came in with severe neurological symptoms and tremors after having her chin forced to her chest during a massage while on vacation. She had gone to several neurologists, who were unable to alleviate her symptoms. . After 20 sessions, she was back to normal, and went back to work after being out over a year.
